Stefano Figalo was born in October 1976 in Teresopolis, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He lives in the capital of Rio. Formed in documentary photography by the "Imagens do Povo", photo agency, documentation and research center, located in Favela da Maré in Rio de Janeiro. Figalo began his career as a professional photographer in 2007, working on social and documentary guidelines. In 2008 he founded the S/FIGALO Photography site exclusively for disclosure of his photographic works. As a freelancer works with visual journalism, editorial photography and portraits. In the area of education, taught photography at the Youth Reference Center (CRJ), a program coordinated by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Human Rights Rio de Janeiro. He taught photography in the course of Communication of Rio Generation Project Aware, conducted by the Special Secretariat for Economic Solidarity of Rio de Janeiro.
